📋 About This Mod
Description:
I found it frustating that whenever I opened the map, I would have to drag the map in order to highlight icons, fast travel, start investigations, etc. Which makes sense for a controller, but makes no sense for the flexibility afforded by a mouse.
Thus, this mod makes it so that the map cursor matches exactly to you're mouse movements and just hovering over an icon with your mouse is all that's needed to interact with it.

[]Note: This mod should be compatible with Fluffy Mod Manager, if you are using it these installation steps may look different. I do not personally use Fluffy, so I cannot comment on how to install it with Fluffy present.
Mod Options (Under "Script Generated UI" Menu in ReFramework):
[]"Dirty Noise Fix" - When hovering over icons, for a small portion of people there is a somwhat annoying chirping noise. This is a very crude fix for it that just turns off Sound Effect volume when in the map, and turns it back on when outside the map. Default: Off
[]"2560x1080 UW Res Fix" - To be used only if experiencing issues without it on. In theory should fix issues with map cursor position not being properly synced up with your mouse position. This issue is mostly visual and shouldn't effect usability of the mod, but it is very ugly and annoying, so hopefully this should fix it. Please comment on the mod if not. Default: Off
[]"3440x1440 UW Res Fix" - Nearly identical to the previous option, besides what resolution it targets. Default: Off
[]"Dynamic Radius of Selection" - Changes the size of the radius of the circle your cursor uses to determine how close your cursor needs to be to an icon to select it. Changes it based on zoom distance, more zoomed out = smaller radius. Default: Off
[]"Map Icon Cycler" - This option provides 2 buttons bindable the mouse/keyboard that will allow you to cycle between icons you are currently hovering over. Very useful if the icon you want to select is overlapping with other icons. One button is for Boss icons specifically, while the other button is for all other icons. There is a chance this feature can cause intolerable map lag, though I personally never experienced this, and thus there is an option to turn it off if so desired. Default: On
[]"Mouse Hider" - This option autohides the mouse cursor, such that it doesn't overlap with the map cursor. This change is supposed to be purely cosmetic, however due to current implementation being very buggy, it is not recommended to be used at this time[/
This UI mod for Baldur's Gate 3 lets the map cursor follow your mouse movement instead of requiring you to drag the map behind it. It's a small quality-of-life improvement for players who prefer mouse-driven map navigation. With 183 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solves a real annoyance for mouse-and-keyboard players (183 endorsements)
- Tiny mod that does exactly what it says—no bloat
- Actively maintained (last updated March 2026)
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects map cursor behavior—no other UI changes
- May not be necessary if you're used to the default drag mechanic
For Baldur's Gate 3 players who use mouse and keyboard and find the default map dragging clunky. If you prefer a more direct cursor control on the map, this is a quick fix. Skip if you're happy with the default or play with a controller.
