This mod allows you to fine-tune two key aspects of hitstop:
-
[]MotionSpeed: Adjust how much the animation slows down during hitstop[/]
[]StopTime: Control how long the hitstop effect lasts[/]
and assign different hitstop settings to each motion individually.
Perfect for players who want to customize the feel of combat to match their style.
To make hitstop stronger:
StopTime → Up
MotionSpeed → Down
Result : Larger than original
To make hitstop lighter:
StopTime → Down
MotionSpeed → Up
Result : Smaller than original
As mentioned previously, this mod was originally created by Ravvit. I wanted to add on to their work, and got direct permission to do so. They also requested that I maintain the mod and the features I added. Speaking of...
New Features:
Most notably, I've ported over Frame Windows from my various offset mods to this one! This will allow you to make the hitstop changes you've made to a move only apply during a certain frame window. Most notably, this is useful if you want to edit a multihit move, but only want certain hits in said move to have increased hitstop.
As an example, if you wanted to, say, Make True Charge Slash's final hit have much more hitstop without affecting the first hit, you'd set your 'Start' frame to around 60-80, and your end frame to 150-400.
If you're going to use frame windows a lot, I would advise downloading a mod like 'EverParry' which allows you to see what frame of a current motion you're on.
Additionally, I've added the ability to add a motion via Categories and Indexes instead of only Motion ID's. Consider this as a debug option - If Motion ID's aren't letting you edit a certain moves hitstop for whatever reason, try using its Category and Index instead.
Known Issues:
In my limited testing, some moves seem to be unaffected by the mod. Most notably, several Dual Blades attacks are unaffected. I'm not entirely sure why this happens, but my guess is that the mod can only edit hitstop that's already there. Certain Dual Blades moves seem to have no hitstop to begin with, and as such trying to edit them with the mod does nothing. I may fix this in the future, but it's probably out of my skill level.
Special Thanks:
Of course, Ravvit. They created the bulk of this mod, I simply ported over some features from my own mod to theirs. Props to them for coming up with this wonderful idea.
Actri, for helping me start out modding this game as well as providing the code I use in this mod to track Categories and Indexes.
