MiSide Multiplayer

The MiSide Multiplayer Mod is a pioneering experimental modification that introduces cooperative multiplayer support to MiSide for the first time. This release establishes the core networking framework, complete animation synchronization, and preliminary state tracking.

Please be aware that this is an active work in progress. While the foundation is built and players can see each other fully animated, core game mechanics—such as world states, complex missions, and Mita's advanced behaviors—are still undergoing active stabilization. This release is intended for testing, debugging, and framework evaluation.

Installation Instructions

Important First Step:

After installing the mod via BepInEx, you must launch the game once and then close it. This allows the mod to generate the configuration file required for the following steps.

Host Instructionls:

1. Locate and execute MiSideMultiplayerRelayServer.exe to start the host server.

2. Open Command Prompt and type in IPCONFIG. You should see your network IPv4 pop up, That is what you share with your friends. (Security Notice: Utilize a secure port forwarding service or a Virtual LAN software such as Hamachi, Radmin VPN, or ZeroTier instead of sharing your raw public IPv4).

Client Instructions:

1. Ensure the Host has successfully started the relay server.

2. Navigate to your MiSide installation directory: \BepInEx\Config.

3. Open the configuration file named com.miside.multiplayer.puppets.cfg using a text editor.

4. Locate the Networking section and enter the Host's IP address.

5. Save the file and launch the game.

Main Features

Cooperative Connectivity: Connect with friends via IP/LAN for a multi-player experience.

Full Animation Synchronization: All movement—including walking, running, and idle states—is now fully synchronized for both the default player model AND custom models imported via the MiSide Custom Model Loader.

Preliminary Mita & Quest Sync: Initial implementation is live! Basic positional/behavioral states for Mita and preliminary objective tracking now sync across connected clients.

Current Limitations

Partial Synchronization Instability: Because Mita and Mission synchronization are in their baseline phases, expect frequent desynchronization, unregistered quest triggers, or state mismatches.

Environment & Inventory: Full world state changes, environmental triggers, physics interactions, and proper handling of shared item pickups/inventory are still actively under development and are not synchronized yet.

Requirements

● A clean, unmodified installation of MiSide.

● BepInEx 6 (IL2CPP) installed in your game directory.

Strongly Recommended: Back up your local save data before connecting to a host, due to the experimental nature of the new synchronization modules.
