All other terms follow those of the original RTM pack. **Train Overview (based on Wikipedia)** The E5 Series was developed to enable 320 km/h operation on the Tohoku Shinkansen, and it began commercial service on March 5, 2011. Its introduction marked the debut of the fastest service class, the Hayabusa. Functionally, it serves as the successor to the E2 Series and is the primary rolling stock on the Tohoku Shinkansen as of 2025. Initially operated at 300 km/h in 2011, the maximum speed was increased to 320 km/h in 2013, making it the fastest Shinkansen in Japan.
