LavaDamage is a survival-oriented plugin that makes the game more challenging by dealing damage to players who stay too close to lava. It introduces a heat proximity mechanic, ensuring that even without direct contact, lava remains a dangerous environmental hazard.

Every second, the plugin checks nearby blocks within a configurable CHECK_RADIUS. If lava is detected, players without special protection will receive configurable damage and an on-screen warning.

All behavior is controlled via config.yml:

CHECK_RADIUS – how many blocks around the player are scanned for lava.

DAMAGE_AMOUNT – how much damage is dealt (in half-hearts).

BYPASS_PERMISSION – permission (lavadamage.bypass) that allows a player to ignore the effect.

NETHERITE_BYPASS – when enabled, players wearing a full Netherite armor set are immune to lava proximity damage.

Additional features:

Action bar warnings (“You’re too close to the lava!”).

Survival and Adventure mode support only (Creative/Spectator unaffected).

Permission system for admins or special roles.

Lightweight checks running once per second to avoid lag.

Plugin metrics and donation message support.

LavaDamage is perfect for survival or hardcore servers that want to increase difficulty, encourage smart gameplay around lava, and reward players who prepare with gear or permissions.
