Regius

**Do you like collecting critters?** Do you like breeding those critters to make prettier critters? Regius is a mod that aims to re-create the ball python breeding hobby in Minecraft to a reasonable degree of realism, including a genetics system similar to (But more expansive than) vanilla's Pandas. Don't know much about ball pythons or genetics? No problem! Regius includes an in-game guidebook, Ball Pythons and You, to help complete newcomers learn everything they need to know to use the mod. It can be crafted with a vanilla book and a piece of sphagnum moss. ### Sphagnum Moss ### Sphagnum moss is a plant that can be found growing occasionally in swamps. You can create more by bonemealing it (Like tall flowers) and you can use it as decoration or compact it into a block and grow grass, flowers, etc in it! It can also be dried in a furnace, and then re-hydrated by placing it in water. ### Hollow Logs ### You ball python will need something to crawl in! Hollow logs can be crafted from any vanilla wood by placing 8 logs in a ring on a crafting table. (Like the chest recipe) ### Ball Pythons ### Ball pythons can be found in savannas, and then carried home with you in an empty bucket. On rare occasions, your new pet will have a special morph that makes it look different from most other ball pythons! If you have two pythons, you can breed them with raw rabbit meat and they have a chance of passing whatever morphs they have down to their children. (Some morphs are recessive however, so it won't always be immediately obvious that this has happened) ### Genetics ### Regius currently includes four morphs: Albino (Recessive), cinnamon (Incomplete dominant), pastel (Incomplete dominant), and pinstripe (dominant). That might not sound like a lot, but a dedicated breeder can create 35 different patterns with just these morphs! Genetics in Regius are simulated using a Punnett square system, so a baby ball python can carry genes from its parents that aren't immediately obvious! ### Coming in the Future ### - Naturally generating hollow logs - More customization with tags - Dynamic python behavior (Hiding, basking, etc.) - More morphs!
