This mod is designed with modpacks in mind. Now for 1. 21. 1 NeoForge! Disable Nether Portal creation and then assign this item as a quest reward, or with a custom crafting recipe using KubeJS. There is a config option to disable typical portal generation, this is done via server events so there's no need to hack the functionality via KubeJS. When holding the End Portal Item or Nether Portal Item, you'll get a full render of the portal and where it will place. When you right click, the item is consumed and the portal is placed. When placing an End Portal, instead of consuming the held item, the item will convert to an Eye of Ender so you can manually light the one portal frame block that's empty.
