📋 About This Mod
Any enchantment fits alongside any other - every Protection on one chestplate, Sharpness with Smite on one sword. Optionally lifts the anvil's 40-level Too Expensive cap.

# No Enchant Limits
Vanilla sorts enchantments into exclusive groups. Protection, Blast Protection, Fire Protection and Projectile Protection all fight over the same chestplate — pick one and the other three are gone. Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods do the same to a sword.
This mod removes those groups. Any enchantment sits next to any other, everywhere it matters: the enchanting table, the anvil, and enchanted books.
So one chestplate carries all four Protections. One sword carries Sharpness V, Smite V and Bane of Arthropods V at the same time.
## The anvil
There is a second wall vanilla puts in the way, and you hit it whether you like it or not: anvil cost doubles with every operation. Stacking six or seven enchantments onto one item runs into the 40-level Too Expensive! limit well before you are finished — which is exactly the point where this mod starts being worth having.
So that cap comes off too. You still pay the full price and you still need the levels to cover it; only the flat refusal is gone.
This is a separate option, and it switches itself off automatically when Apotheosis is installed — Apotheosis rewrites the same code, and the two patches cannot both apply.
## What stays vanilla
Item types are untouched. Feather Falling still will not go on a sword.
Maximum levels are untouched. Protection still stops at IV, Sharpness at V.
Cost is untouched. Enchanting and repairing are priced exactly as before.
An enchantment is also still incompatible with itself. That one looks like something the mod forgot, but it is deliberate: self-incompatibility is how the enchanting table knows to stop offering an enchantment it has already rolled. Drop it and the table happily gives you Sharpness twice on the same sword — which is the bug 1. 1. 0 fixes.
The file is `config/noenchantlimits.toml`, written on first launch.
`removeCompatibilityLimits`, on by default, is the main feature: every enchantment coexists with every other one.
`removeAnvilCostLimit`, also on by default, removes the anvil's 40-level Too Expensive! limit.
Each option decides whether its patch is applied at all, rather than being checked while you play. That means a feature you turn off is genuinely not there and cannot conflict with anything else in your pack. Changes take effect on restart.
## Compatibility
Minecraft 1. 20. 1, Forge 47+. Support for newer versions is planned.
The mod only changes gameplay logic, so a vanilla client can join a server running it. One cosmetic caveat: such a client still draws the red Too Expensive! label past 40 levels, because that label is a client-side decision. The anvil itself works — the item is there and you can take it.
Anvil cost is synced to the client as a short, so past roughly 32767 levels the number shown in the interface wraps around. Getting there takes an absurd number of anvil operations.
Existing worlds and already-enchanted items are unaffected.
