This is not the Minecraft you know Hollow Quest is a medieval fantasy RPG pack built to slow down the pace of gameplay and give a fun, immersive experience. A lot of the base Minecraft mechanics have been changed or tweaked. Character creation and starter kits: Customize your looks and traits with MCA, and build a backstory for your character with a starter kit. Quests and survival guide: When you first enter the world, it's highly recommended to open up your quest log (~) for some useful tips on getting started! You will also find the five-chapter story questline in the journal. You cannot punch trees: No more punching trees for wood that would hurt! Instead, look around for gravel, sticks and rocks. You are starting from the Stone Age here, so get yourself some basic flint and stone tools by knapping rocks together. New forging and crafting systems: Overgeared replaces the crafting table with a new forging mechanic. There is an order to things now: start with stone, then move on to copper, iron, steel and so forth. Heat the ingot, hammer it at the anvil, then quench and polish it. How well you strike decides how good the result is, and a Masterwork blade is leagues better than a poor one of the same material. Skill at the anvil substitutes for better ore. No more enchantment tables: Enchantment tables can't be crafted or found. Every enchantment in this world is something you find while raiding dungeons and fighting bosses. You can fish and trade for enchanted books too. Exploration will be key to getting the best gear. Villagers are people: With MCA, villagers are now people. You can build relationships, talk, get quests and even marry them if you wish. Build up a village and turn it into your own kingdom! Combat has weight: Epic Fight gives every weapon type its own moveset, animation commitment, stamina, dodging and guarding. Make sure you think about how you approach a fight, and plan ahead for boss fights! Healing and food: Healing has been slowed down, and food will no longer save you in a tight spot unless it's a golden apple! When you take a hit in combat, there is a new delay on the healing you get from your hunger level. You can't just back away from a bad fight and hope the steak will save you. Carry bandages, herbal tonics or potions to stay in the fight. Seasons and exploration: If you want to take the game at a slower pace and focus on farming, then make sure you watch the seasons as you tend the fields. The world is meant to be large and expansive, and you may find yourself traveling thousands of blocks while you follow the quests. Plan your travel with maps, waystones, horses and boats!
