### About

Kindling Age is an early survival mod focused on slowing down the opening hours of Minecraft and making the first steps of progression feel earned.

Instead of rushing straight into wooden tools, you begin with rough materials, simple handcrafting, and camp-level survival. Gather flint, reeds, wild plants, and clay, turn them into primitive tools and containers, and build out a harsher but more deliberate start through food preservation, water handling, fishing, and small-scale storage.

Cut useful plants with the Flint Knife to gather Plant Fiber and Wild Seeds, bind materials together with Fiber Cord, fish with a biome-aware Fish Trap, dry food and materials on the Drying Rack, and shape clay into pots that can sun-dry naturally or cure faster over heat. From Hearth Pits and Reed Scoops to Jerky, Dried Fish, and handmade baskets, Kindling Age is built around grounded survival loops rather than fast automation.

• Configurable early-game restriction that can prevent players from breaking logs with an empty hand.
• Plant gathering loop with Plant Fiber, Fiber Cord, Wild Seeds, and Roasted Seeds.
• Basic utility through Reed Scoops for moving water and Reed Mats for simple furnishing.
• Wet Clay Pots that dry in sunlight or over fire, then become functional Clay Pots for water storage.
• Hearth Pits powered by Kindling for low-tech campfire cooking.
• Drying Racks with timed recipes for preserving resources like fish, meat, kelp, and even Rotten Flesh into Leather.
• Fish Traps that catch Cod in oceans and Salmon in rivers.
• Early storage options with Crude Bags and Wicker Baskets.
• Preserved food items like Dried Fish and Jerky for faster eating and dependable travel food.
