**Mojang has fixed this bug in 1.21!** This mod fixes entities killing other entities with flame and fire aspect not counting towards a kill for the attacker, but rather just a kill from fire damage. **The bug:** Players and entities that kill other entities with the fire from Flame and Fire Aspect do not get credit for these kills as the game thinks the kill is just from fire. This voids looting effects and could break how some mods function. **The fix:** If a player or entity inflicts fire damage onto another entity, the attacker is kept track of separately and if the fire damage kills the entity, the original attacker is credited. This allows looting to apply to the kill, achievements to be granted, as well as statistics to be properly increased.
