Diseases, symptoms, mutations, transmission methods and other mechanics can be expanded and configured, allowing creators to build custom outbreaks, medical progression, research systems and entire modpack scenarios around BioForge. BioForge can be played solo, but is especially recommended for multiplayer and modpacks , where medicine can become an actual player profession. And first item that you will need to craft is Research Tablet and it will contain all of the needed information. JEI is highly recommended for recipes and progression.
