Taghunt

This is a minigame initially made while manhunts were popular, as an alternative version for those who aren't good enough at minecraft for manhunts to work. The game and balancing was slowly iterated over several months to what this datapack is now. It was largely made for personal use, but I figured I might as well share it.

This is a multiplayer game that works for any number of players ≥2, although 3-8 is recommended. You can modify the settings to fit whatever player count or game pacing you like. Players can spectate simply by going into spectator mode.

Players are split into 2 teams: Hunters and Runners. Your aim is to be the Runner for as long as possible,

As a Hunter, killing a Runner will turn you into one. On the other hand, dying as a Runner will revert you back into a Hunter!

You'll get 20 seconds of buffs when you turn into a Runner. In addition, Hunters have some passive buffs and are given the coordinates of a Runner at all times.

The first person to survive as a Runner up until the goal time is the winner!

Players can do `/trigger hunt_instructions` at any time to view the instructions.

The minigame can be setup and played with `/trigger hunt_menu`. This brings up a menu in chat for resetting the game, starting the game, and changing settings.

To prepare for a new game, 1. Find and stand at a good spawn 2. Click `` in the hunt menu 3. Click `` when ready

Settings are: - World Border Size (start and end of the game) - Score steal percent (score steal when a hunter kills a runner) - Toggle Catchup score multiplier (runners behind the lead player gain bonus time for every player ahead) - Toggle requiring runner kill to win (after reaching the goal, the runner must additionally kill a hunter to win) - Toggle commencement chicken (First runner is selected by killing a chicken that spawns on the surface at a random location. If disabled, runner is selected randomly.) - Toggles for saturation, night vision, fire resistance for hunters, auto-smelt, friendly fire, nether - Custom kit

Some mechanics are modified for better balancing, mostly to allow more strategies to be valid, and to discourage camping.

In addition, all structure chests can contain heavy cores, and Wind Burst can appear in enchanting tables
