This datapack will add a simple mechanic to swords, which is a Parry!

Unlike shield, you don't have to hold right click to block. Instead, you have to time it correctly to negate any sources of damage. It will not damage your item while parrying, and it will not have a cooldown when it got hit by a heavy blow

Look on the Bottom to see how they work # # How to use a Parry? Right-Click with your swords, and it will perform a block or parry !(https://i.imgur.com/0VPY2bh.gif)

Reminder: While having shield, or putting any items in your offhand will disabled the Parry option

# Succeed Parry: !(https://i.imgur.com/E8iw6bg.gif)

When Successfully parried an attack: - Attacker will not able to Attack or Parry (for player), and get Slowed for 1s - Parrying projectile will get reflected where you facing at - Cooldown depending how much damage it took - Example: > Zombie dealt 4 damage to your parry, grabs that damage into tick as cooldown. so 4 ticks means 0. 2s cooldown (1 tick = 0. 05s). Higher Damage = Longer Cooldown

# Failed Parry !(https://i.imgur.com/cUHRyY7.gif)

When Failed or Accidently used a parry: - You will not able to Attack, and get Slowed for 1s - 3s Parry Cooldown + 0. 1s if you keep failing (up to 5s max). Removes extra seconds when successfully parried

Thats all of the parry uses you can do. There's more of this stuff on Guide Option (in-game), you can check it out (don't know if it's helpful)

There's also an Enchantment that can upgrade or boost your parry

Enchantments

(Common Enchant) - Swift Parry: - Gain Movement Speed and Efficiency Buff - Raging Parry & Defensive Parry

  • Raging Parry:
  • - Gain Attack Damage, Speed, and Knockback Buff
  • - Swift Parry & Defensive Parry
  • Defensive Parry:
  • - Gain Resistance effect, Armor and Toughness, but also Reduce Attack Speed & Knockback, and Movement Speed
  • - Swift Parry & Raging Parry

(Rare Enchant) - Countered: - Reflect 50% Damage Blocked Back to Owner (5s Cooldown per opponent) - Failing will damage you based of your Max Health (It can instant kill you on max fail) - Some mobs have lower chance to proc - Stunning

  • Stunning:
  • - Stuns the Attacker for 2s (5s Cooldown per opponent)
  • - Stun Yourself based of parry cooldown duration on fail
  • - Parrying an explosion causes to stun everyone (excluding user) in range (20s Cooldown when activated)
  • - Some mobs have lower chance to proc
  • - Countered

"Buff Parry" are mostly found anywhere. Enchant table, Trading, etc.

"Unique Parry" can be only found in Loots and Treasure

So... are you uncomfortable with this enchant requirements and all of those cooldown? well, you can change them whatever you like.

Press "G" (or what keybind you set on quick action) to open the option dialog, and go to the settings (or call it config i guess) # ### v2. 0 Soon. Everything will get reworked! (parry mechanic still the same, but different style and alot of balancing)

### While the update is still working on, you can look on the "Spoiler" details that will changed:

(Spoiler) - ~~it'll become as enchantment instead of just adding it to sword by default (and it will have upgraded enchant version)~~ nvm, i'll turn it into smithing recipe - buff and unique parry enchants will get reworked or replace by something - optimizing every function cause there is alot of "/execute as" commands running - no configs or settings
