If you intend to use the mod's built in textures or are using the datapack as a resourcepack, you need (https://modrinth.com/mod/modefite-item-definition-backport) to get the sword models working. The resourcepack is also available (https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/metallic-(resource-pack)). For best results use the separate resourcepack, on top of all other resources. Otherwise you will need to put mod resources on top of everything else.

The project will still load without Modefite, but you'll be using the item icons as held item models, which don't look good compared to the actual models.

Heavily inspired by mods such as Metals: a Progression Overhaul and Slow Your Roll, Metallic aims to transform the early-mid game from a frantic tier skipping rush into a slow and linear progression from tier to tier. Every upgrade will feel impactful, every new armor set will feel earned.

By default, this is compatible with the (https://modrinth.com/mod/bronze) mod and the mod (https://modrinth.com/mod/immersive-armors). If you are having trouble with the modified recipes not showing up, try downloading as a datapack and putting it above the rest of the mods in load order. On a server, if you experiencing issues with modded recipes simply remove the datapack, load the server, and then re-add the datapack after shutting it down again.

The player is incentivised to explore the underground and the overworld, gathering rare resources and setting up valuable infrastructure in the world such as wool farms and wheat fields. Ores such as lapis lazuli and redstone are now precious, and materials such as copper now have a use.

-Raw materials generally smelt into nuggets

-Armor requires ingots instead of pressure plates

-Nether Gold Ore drops raw gold instead of many nuggets. I do not want to force the player to enter the nether early just to obtain their Rose Gold armor

-Diamonds require Diamond Ore to be smelted, crafted from 4 Deepslate Diamond Ore

-Raw Copper cannot be smelted or cooked. You need Copper Ore crafted from 4 raw copper

How to progress: (the use of JEI is highly recommended for viewing recipes)

The first day of your journey will consist of the following. Gather flint, clay, and leaves using shears crafted using flint and sticks. Flint can be crafted using 3 gravel to speed up the process. Your first crafting table will be made from one flint, two planks, and a clay block. From there you can craft your first set of flint tools. A hoe will be important for creating a wheat farm, which is an integral resource for the copper age and for your first armor set, as leather is crafted using rabbit hide and wheat. Hide can be obtained from cows or from rotten flesh cooked on a campfire.

The copper age begins once you find a vein of andesite, granite, or diorite. Copper has a natural chance to drop from those rock types. it can also be crafted from 3 of said rocks, similar to how flint is crafted using gravel. Then you must craft copper ore blocks out of 4 copper, and cook it on a campfire. Copper is used for tools and to craft cut copper, which is required for a furnace. Be sure NOT to attempt to cook food in your new furnace. Your second set of tools, alongside using copper will use various polished stones as well as wheat.

The iron age consists of multiple different armor sets. Rose gold, Chainmail, and Iron are a few. Rose gold can theoretically be obtained earlier in the game by finding gold in various structures, but generally it is obtained through mining gold with an iron pickaxe. Additionally, Rose gold will use the leather armor you have crafted earlier. Leather can also be used to craft chainmail. Generally, Chainmail or leather are the base materials used to craft all the other armor sets, including those from Immersive Armors. Iron tools are crafted with lightning rods, Lapis blocks, leather, and iron. Chainmail uses redstone and iron/bronze use brown wool.

Finally, diamond gear is generally crafted with obsidian, wax, and various materials found in the nether. To actually obtain the diamonds you must first find either diamond ores and smelt them, or find 4 deepslate ore to craft into regular diamond ore. In the nether you can also find Gilded Blackstone, which is required to craft your first Enchanting table.

This mod also adds recipes for the Trident, crafted using prismarine shards and other materials used during the iron age.
