## hoes need love too this data pack aims to make the hoe a bit more important to the gameplay loop of farming, both by making it more of a necessity in the early game, and giving it some utilities in the endgame. at the moment, this mod only affects carrots, potatoes, beetroots, and wheat, but may be updated to include more features or support mods in the future. the main change is that **harvesting a fully mature crop requires a hoe to collect its yield**, otherwise the drops are identical to that of harvesting prematurely. this treats the hoe more like a scythe, making its use around the farm extend past simply right-clicking a block of dirt. this also means that gaining the effects of fortune on a crop requires an enchanted hoe. to make fortune-enchanted hoes even more useful, crop yields have also been modified slightly to make the rewards more... well, rewarding. **wheat and beetroot harvests will yield more crops, rather than their seeds.** you can check the gallery if you're curious just how much of the crop you'll get extra. alongside that, **harvesting a carrot with a fortune-enchanted hoe now has a chance to yield a golden carrot,** with the chance maxing out at 3% with fortune III.
