# **Better Worldgen** ### **A Personal Take On Minecraft's Vanilla World Generation.** > **Better Worldgen doesn't aim to add more content. Mountains can now reach much greater heights due to the removal of the world generation height cap, while overhangs and small cliffs have been removed to produce smoother landscapes. Although caves still generate underground, large surface cave entrances, cave pillars, aquifers, and standard carvers have all been removed, resulting in a cleaner, less fragmented appearance in both the Overworld and the Nether. This also makes the underground feel smoother and more continuous, with caves becoming more enclosed and hidden. Additionally, underground sediments such as dirt, gravel, clay, and soul sand no longer generate, while surface and underground lava lakes, as well as natural water and lava springs, have been removed to prevent fluids from disrupting the terrain and cave systems. Structures such as mesa mineshafts are also disabled.
