# Auto Smelter

Iron, gold and copper ore drop finished ingots the moment you mine them.

No furnace. No fuel. No standing around waiting for a stack of raw ore to cook while you could be doing something else.

## What it does

That is the whole pack. Everything else in the game stays exactly as it is.

## Your enchantments still work

This is the part cheap "auto smelt" packs get wrong.

• Fortune still multiplies the drop, exactly as it does in vanilla — Fortune III
• on iron gives you up to four ingots.
• Silk Touch still gives you the ore block, so you can keep collecting ores
• for decoration or move a vein somewhere else.
• Mining speed, tool durability and required tool tier are untouched.

The pack replaces the loot tables of six ore blocks and nothing else. It does not run a single command in the background, so it costs your server no performance at all.

## Installation

Server 1. Put the `.zip` into `world/datapacks/` 2. Restart, or run `/reload`

Singleplayer 1. Put the `.zip` into your world folder under `datapacks/` (or drag it onto the world-creation screen)

Safe to add and remove at any time. Removing it restores the vanilla drops immediately.

## Compatibility

• Minecraft 1. 21. 9 – 1. 21. 11, 26. 1.x, 26. 2 and 26. 3 (pre-release)
• Each series has its own download; pick the one matching your version.
• Vanilla, Fabric, Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Folia, NeoForge — it is a datapack
• Server-side only. Players install nothing.
• Conflicts only with other packs that replace the same ore loot tables

## A note on version 1. 0. 0

If you downloaded this pack before, it did not work — and this release is the fix.

The old version put its functions in a folder Minecraft stopped reading in 1. 21, it called loot tables that were never included in the file, and its logic checked whether a player was standing inside an ore block, which never happens. Loading it on a test server produced `Unknown function autosmelter:tick`.

Version 2. 0. 0 is a complete rewrite using loot tables, which is the correct way to do this. Every drop above was verified on a real server on both 1. 21. 11 and 26. 2 — normal pickaxe, Fortune and Silk Touch each checked individually.

Sorry to anyone who downloaded the old one.

Does this work with modded ores? No — only the six vanilla ores. Modded ores keep their own drops.

Do I lose the XP from smelting? Vanilla iron, gold and copper ore give no XP when mined, and smelting XP is granted by the furnace. So there is nothing to lose here — but you do skip the furnace XP you would have got later.

Can I still get raw ore? Yes — mine with Silk Touch and you get the ore block, which you can smelt normally.
