FlyingDoctor is a lightweight external Windows utility created for PMDG Boeing 737-800 users who want help with the repetitive ground preparation and engine-start phase while keeping the actual flight under their own control.
The concept is simple:
You handle the FMC, route, taxi, takeoff, autopilot, cruise, descent and landing.
FlyingDoctor handles the preparation for pushback and engine-start sequence.
• One-click PREPARE FOR PUSHBACK sequence
• Sequential overhead, APU and electrical preparation
• 5-second spacing between switch actions
• APU start and electrical transfer handling
• Engine 2 start followed by Engine 1
• Basic after-start configuration
• READY FOR PUSHBACK and READY FOR TAXI workflow
• Lightweight standalone Windows application
• Uses PMDG NG3 SDK and SimConnect
IMPORTANT - PMDG SDK SETTING REQUIRED
FlyingDoctor cannot communicate with the PMDG 737 unless PMDG SDK Data Broadcast is enabled.
In the PMDG 737 options file, make sure the following lines are present:
EnableDataBroadcast=1
If this setting is not enabled, FlyingDoctor will not connect to the aircraft.
SUPPORTED STARTING STATE
Before clicking PREPARE FOR PUSHBACK:
• Battery ON
• IRS NAV / aligned
• Ground Power connected and supplying the aircraft
INSTALLATION
1. Download the ZIP file.
2. Extract it to any folder outside the MSFS Community folder.
3. Keep FlyingDoctor_PMDGFO_V1_11.exe, SimConnect.dll and PMDG_SDK_EULA.txt in the same folder.
4. Enable PMDG SDK Data Broadcast:
EnableDataBroadcast=1
5. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator.
6. Load the PMDG Boeing 737-800.
7. Run FlyingDoctor_PMDGFO_V1_11.exe.
8. Read and accept the PMDG SDK EULA when prompted.
9. Wait until FlyingDoctor reports PMDG 737 CONNECTED.
10. Click PREPARE FOR PUSHBACK.
11. During pushback click START ENGINES / READY FOR TAXI.
ENGINE START SEQUENCE
• Right Engine Start Selector -> GRD
• Wait 5 seconds
• Ignition Selector -> R
• Wait 5 seconds
• Engine 2 Fuel Lever -> IDLE
• Fixed 10-second wait
• Left Engine Start Selector -> GRD
• Wait 5 seconds
• Ignition Selector -> R
• Wait 5 seconds
• Engine 1 Fuel Lever -> IDLE
• Fixed 10-second wait
