📋 About This Mod
A collection of scripts for use in 3DSMax.
This is a collection of scripts for 3DSMax to be used for MGSV:TPP models. Currently, importing completely new models is not possible. These scripts simply allow modifications to currently existing models. Shown below are the scripts and a short explanation of how to use them and what they do.
MGSV Face Injector:
This allows you to hide individual faces on a model. To use it, simply import your model into 3DSMax and then go to the Editable Mesh tab. Select the faces you wish to hide and then click hide. DO NOT ACTUALLY DELETE THE FACES. After you hide the faces that you don't want to show up, use the MGSV Face Injector Script and select the fmdl that you originally imported from and the faces should now be hidden when you boot up the game.
MGSV Normals Injector:
This allows you to edit a model's normals. To use it, use the edit normals modifier on the model who's normals you want to edit. Once you're done editing your normals, collapse the edit normals modifier on all of your objects. Then you can use the MGSV Normals Injector Script to inject it into your model. *This script is still considered a work in progress. If there are any errors, please report it to me.
MGSV UVW Map Injector:
This allows you to edit a model's UVW maps. To use it, use the Unwrap_UVW modifier on the model who's UVW maps you want to edit. Once you're done editing your UV's, collapse the modifier on all of your objects. Then you can use the MGSV UV Injector Script to inject it into your model. IMPORTANT: This script does not work correctly on models that have any faces hidden. If you wish to edit the UV map of a model that is edited, you can get a fresh version of that model and edit the UV's of that one. Once you're done, you can then inject into the model that already has edited faces.
MGSV Vertex Injector:
This allows you to edit a Vertex's position on a model. To use it, go to the Editable Meshes tab and move the vertices to the position of your choosing. After you are done, simply use the MGSV Vertex Injector script to inject it into your model. IMPORTANT: This does not allow you to edit the weights of the vertices. Do not move the verts to a drastically different location from their original ones. This will cause massive distortions in the model. To see how Vertex Editing can be used, look at MorbidSlinky's mods.
There will be video tutorials coming in the future, along with possible script updates. To import the models into Maxscript you will need the fmdl script created by Jayveerk: https://github.com/Jayveerk/FMDL
