📋 About This Mod

This mod is discontinued. Will leave it up in case anyone wants to use this version for some reason. Someone else already made a snakebite version that should be easier to install: https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsolidvtpp/mods/717

Update: I have added an optional file to replace the Avatar's 2nd hair option with the MSF balaclava. Thanks to Fraridr for providing the necessary files! Please note that in order to prevent clipping between the Avatar's face and the balaclava you will need to edit certain proportion's of the Avatar. Also please keep in mind that it does not work properly with the bandana equipped. Please see the ReadMe in that file for installation and Avatar proportion details. Also added an optional file to replace the Sneaking Suit instead of the Battle Dress.

This mod swaps the MSF Med fatigue outfit with the Battledress for Venom/Avatar and does not currently contain a head replacement. This is my first mod for TPP and would not exist without a ton of help from Fraridr and HeartlessSeph. Seriously, huge thanks to you guys for all of the help!

Currently this mod has no first person issues and has the option of gloves when using the rocket or blast arms. Due to the way the gloves were added, when firing a rocket from the rocket/blast arm there will be a second hand projectile trailing behind the first.

I am currently looking into using another model that would not require the gloves to be added via the rocket slots but there's still work to be done before that has a chance of release. In the mean time at least, I hope you enjoy!

Installation:

You will need the QAR tool and the latest dictionary.txt (download it here: https://github.com/emoose/MGSV-QAR-Dictionary-Project). Place the dictionary.txt file into the QAR folder and then proceed with the following:

1. Unpack chunk0.dat

2. Backup plparts_battledress.fpk from the newly created chunk0 folder, specifically chunk0\Assets\tpp\pack\player\parts

2. Move the plparts_battledress.fpk file from the zip into chunk0\Assets\tpp\pack\player\parts

3. Repack the chunk0 folder

If you encounter any issues, please let me know.

This mod was made using files from Fraridr's XOF and MSF Big Boss mods. I also used his file structure and model slotting method to resolve first person issues and his brilliant solution to equipping the gloves without causing first person bugs. He also provided the files for the MSF balaclava.

HeartlessSeph also contributed a ton to this through answering my many questions and assisting with hex editing.

Thanks again fellas!

To remove the avatar horn as shown in the (admittedly crappy) images, get Fraridr's Avatar Horn Removal mod.
