MGSV DLSS - Upscaling, Frame Generation and Neural Rendering
Adds DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, optional 2x frame generation and adjustable neural rendering to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Change DLSS modes and neural appearance settings in-game through an F10 menu.
What it does
-
[]DLSS Super Resolution: render the scene at a lower resolution and reconstruct the selected 1080p, 1440p or 4K output using NVIDIA DLSS.[/]
[]DLAA: use DLSS anti-aliasing at the selected native output resolution.[/]
[]2x frame generation: insert one generated frame between rendered frames using a VSync presentation path.[/]
[]Neural rendering: apply the community neural model at the internal scene resolution, before DLSS upscaling. Lower DLSS modes also reduce the neural-rendering workload.[/]
[]In-game controls: adjust DLSS mode, frame generation and neural appearance settings without restarting.[/]
[]Status inside F10: see whether DLSS, neural rendering and frame generation are active, without a permanent status overlay.[/]
Compatibility and requirements
This is an experimental preview, version 0. 71 The tested hardware is Windows x64 with an RTX 4070 SUPER. Output options are 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160 SDR.
-
[]The installer does not require an exact mgsvtpp.exe fingerprint. The tested executable reports version 1. 0. 15. 4 for reference; other game builds are allowed to install, but native hooks may fail or crash on an unsupported build.[/]
[]Select an output resolution in the installer and match it in MGSV's graphics settings. Restart MGSV after changing output resolution. DLSS mode changes within that output still work in-game. Other output sizes, GPUs, HDR and windowed configurations are unvalidated.[/]
[]Ultimate ASI Loader 9. 7. 0, x64 is required as winmm.dll. The installer also permits the tested IHHook dinput8.dll companion; IHHook alone does not replace the ASI loader.[/]
[]Production DLSS SR and frame-generation runtimes 310. 9. 1. 0 are included. You do not need to download these separately.[/]
[]The community RTX40 neural runtime 310. 8. 0. 0 must be downloaded separately. This version of the installer requires it even if you intend to turn the neural effect off.[/]
[]Install the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable, x64 if it is not already installed.[/]
Installation
1. Close MGSV and extract this mod ZIP to a separate folder. This is not a SnakeBite package. Do not copy the entire extracted package into your game directory.
2. If you do not already have the matching loader, download Ultimate-ASI-Loader_x64.zip from the loader link above. Rename the dinput8.dll from that archive to winmm.dll, then place it beside mgsvtpp.exe. Do not overwrite an existing dinput8.dll; that may belong to IHHook. Keep an already matching winmm.dll.
3. Download nvngx_dlssnr_310. 8. 0-RTX40.zip from the neural-runtime link above and extract nvngx_dlssnr.dll. Keep it in a known location for the next step. The installer verifies its exact hash.
4. Disable an older ReShade/DLSS5 bridge before installing. Active dxgi.dll, dlss5-bridge.addon64 or renodx-dlss5.addon64 files conflict with this integration and are refused by the installer. Keep track of which files belong to your existing mods; this installer does not remove them for you.
5. Double-click Install.cmd. In the installer window, browse to the folder containing mgsvtpp.exe. Browse to the separately downloaded nvngx_dlssnr.dll, or leave that field blank when the matching neural runtime is already installed. Choose 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 or 3840 x 2160 under Output resolution, or use Keep current to preserve an existing choice (4K by default on a fresh installation). Click Install / Update. An explicit output choice updates only the OutputResolution setting; other settings are preserved.
6. Close the installer after it reports success, then launch MGSV through your usual launcher. Set the game's video output to the same resolution you selected in the installer and restart MGSV if you changed it. Select the internal rendering resolution through the mod's DLSS modes. A mismatch is reported in F10 and prevents DLSS from submitting the wrong output size.
Using the F10 menu
Pause the game before opening the menu, because its keys can also reach the game.
[]F10: open or close settings.[/]
[*]Tab: switch between the DLSS/Frame Generation page and the Neural
