RECRUITMENT FIX: WAYBACKERS 1. 0. 2

Version 1. 0. 2 adds the 18 infantry leaders and 4 vehicle pilots to the normal squad-leader and pilot dossier pools. Vanilla candidates are retained. Redeeming a dossier reveals one random eligible unknown leader; all 22 do not appear at once, and already redeemed dossiers are not rerolled.

Close MENACE and update using the main archive 1. 0. 2 or Character Installer 0. 3. 2. Older installer versions omit this fix. With 0. 3. 2, reinstall your existing character selection; keep characters used by ongoing saves selected. Character IDs, artwork, voices, stats and perks are unchanged.

TWO INSTALLATION OPTIONS

Use the optional MENACE Character Installer to preview the roster and install only the leaders you want, or use the main Waybackers archive for manual installation. Both options are described below. The installer is a separate Windows x64 application; download it manually and run it outside Mods.

REQUIRED: ALL LEADERS PICKABLE

All Leaders Pickable is required for Waybackers with both installation options. It is downloaded separately and is not included in the character archive or installer. The installer checks it and offers a Download link to its Nexus page, followed by Install from the downloaded ZIP. For manual installation, place AllLeadersPickable.dll directly in MENACE/Mods alongside Jiangyu. Loader.dll, then restart the game.

All Leaders Pickable can also add extra vanilla leaders to the selection list. The installer's selection controls which Waybackers characters are installed.

MENACE 0. 7. 15 UPDATE

For MENACE 0. 7. 15, update Jiangyu Loader to 1. 4. 7 or newer. Jiangyu 1. 4. 7 includes fixes for this game update. Updating the character pack alone does not update the loader.

Close MENACE and replace Mods/Jiangyu. Loader.dll with the official file. Keep only one Jiangyu loader DLL. If you use a mod manager, update its deployed loader too so it does not restore the older file.

I made this mod primarily for myself, shaped around my own preferences. I decided there was no reason not to share it with the community, so here it is.

ABOUT

I created Waybackers around a simple idea: once the crew of the TCRN Impetus found themselves operating in the Wayback system, they would have to recruit some of their fighters locally.

Those recruits would come from very different walks of life: regular armies, colonial defense forces, transport security companies, private military contractors, mercenary outfits, pirate crews, and raider gangs. Some would bring professional training. Others would bring determination, local knowledge, or a talent for surviving situations that should have killed them.

Waybackers adds 22 new characters built around that premise. Each has an individual background, personality, statistics, growth potential, and perk selection. All 22 have English voice lines written for their character and battlefield role.

The roster includes experienced professionals who develop slowly, promising recruits with considerable room to grow, armored vehicle specialists, scouts, marksmen, field leaders, and close-assault fighters. Their strengths and weaknesses are intended to give them different places in your force.

These are original fan-created characters inspired by the setting.

- Individual biographies, attributes, recruitment costs, and growth profiles.

- A starting perk and a four-tier perk tree for each character.
