This is the hub for one of several custom Squad Leader mod projects I have in the works for Menace.

A Quick Heads-Up on the Art:

I wanted to be completely transparent about how the portrait was made. I'm not a digital artist, but I also didn't want to just copy and paste an image I found online. So, I used AI as a tool to build something new. This Character is Custom and has over 75 refinement steps directing the AI to change his pose, facial expression, eye color, arm position, and the background and Weapon aswell as Clothing and so on. My goal was to create a unique portrait that fits the mod, using the tools I have access to. The only one paying for the AI service here is me! Let's all keep the discussion civil and focused on the mod. Its all free for the Users after all.

The Lore

Umbra Kane built her career around mastering controlled darkness—designing electromagnetic shielding for vital city infrastructure, blackout-proof bunkers, and systems that could deliberately starve sensors and signals to protect civilian zones. She treated absence as a precision tool: knowing precisely when and where to impose silence kept people alive.

During the specialist abductions, the Menace identified her neural architecture as ideal for advanced platform interfaces. Implanted and augmented, she underwent full ocular replacement: her original eyes were excised and substituted with cybernetic arrays—sleek, unblinking orbs that now glow a steady, intense orange. The modification was meant to enhance threat detection and data overlay in low-visibility environments. Instead, it became a signature mark of her defiance. Those glowing orange eyes cut through smoke, shadow, and digital noise like twin embers, registering every shift in the battlefield's electromagnetic signature.

In her final calibration sequence, the interface surged toward lethal overload. Umbra inverted the energy spike, routing it through the platform's own countermeasures. Targeting systems collapsed. External command links severed. The machine registered only her inputs, blind to everything else. She guided it out of the test chamber under total sensor blackout, her new orange eyes the only light source visible in the feed.

Tagged as a persistent system fault by the enemy, she resurfaced in the reclamation zones with the callsign Eclipse—cemented after her first deployment plunged an entire processing district into darkness: automated defenses powered down, drones tumbled blind, and extraction paths opened in the resulting void.

As Sovereign's executive officer and tactical specialist, Eclipse commands platforms optimized for denial and disruption. She deploys focused interference bursts, neural-link severing fields, and localized dead zones that force enemy systems into fallback modes ripe for exploitation. Her cybernetic eyes serve as more than optics—they act as real-time analyzers, mapping field fluctuations and weak points with unerring accuracy.

Over comms, her tone remains level and diagnostic: "Field density critical. Blackout commencing in three." No drama, just certainty. In every plan she authors, secondary safe routes for non-combatants and minimal-damage structural options are still meticulously noted.

Her personal token bears the words:Umbra Non Serva—The shadow does not serve.

To the Menace she is an irreparable breach in protocol. To those who face her she is the moment certainty dissolves into blindness.

To La Corona Negra she is the unflinching extension of Sovereign's authority—quiet, precise, and absolute.

When Eclipse advances, the battlefield doesn't lose sight. It yields to the orange glow that sees everything.
