Femme Fatale Volume 2

A rework of my first portrait mod, utilising what I have learnt to get better quality more consistent images but also more character, colour and individuality into the portraits.

Whereas the first pack would mostly have suited the professional look, this one contains a  more eclectic mix of characters that I think you would find working as mercs in this world. Rookies still wet behind the ears through to veterans who have perhaps stared down the barrel of an AC10 one too many times. Pirates, criminals, cultists, down-on-their-lucks, gladiators, fame chasers, hereditary warrior classes, adrenaline junkies, hardnuts, jokers and mirthless quiet types. With all the colours, styles and attitudes that could entail.

This mod (and all portrait mods) work much better with HUD DIY . It allows you to customise various aspects of the HUD, including the size and position of portraits when comms appear on screen. Results will vary depending on your screen resolution. You need the main DIY file plus the Portraitedit optional file from that page.

There are two packs, with two versions of each pack - one with backgrounds and one without (NB versions). The images are the same, just the without backgrounds ones have had the background stripped out.

Pack A - 345 portraits. This is the most traditional set of portraits, all business, you wouldn't bat an eyelid to see these characters in and around a mercenary battlemech outfit.

Pack B - personally I wouldn't bat an eyelid at these either, but some might. There's a little more flair and skin on display.. but nothing weird or out of place. A vest top is a vest top and a battlemech cockpit is a cramped, swelteringly hot environment to work in. It seems likely that given that these are not part of a professional military they would dress in different ways to suit their personal needs and tastes.

Booster pack 1 - same style as pack B, 175 additional portraits made with new AI models and tools to create more varied and characterful images. This pack has a new feature in that the portraits are available for the game to use as enemies. I figured if they appeared as enemies as well as hireable mercs you will get more use out of them.  Whilst these fit into the pack B category, some of them are in because the mechwarrior is fully armoured but some of the new AI generation tools and models I've used to inject more colour, drama, style and personality into the images, often put nipples on their chests. Or at least mechanical nipple like features. It's clearly are the AI getting a little confused and sticking nipple like things where it thinks nipples should be. I don't think they are massively distracting and I'm telling myself they are in fact the ports by which coolant hoses are attached to their cooling vests...
