Burt's Sound Mod

I've always prefered the sound effects from previous Mechwarrior and Mech Commander games, so I decided to try my hand at modding them in. This mod changes the following:

• []Bitchin Betty from Mechwarrior 3

  []Power Up/Power Down sounds from Mechwarrior 3

  []Center Torso destruction sounds from Mechwarrior 3

  []PPC firing and trail sounds from Mechwarrior 4

  []Missile sounds from Mechwarrior 4

  []Machine Gun sounds from Mechwarrior 3

  []Large Laser sounds from Mech Commander 1

  []Medium Laser sounds from Mechwarrior 3

  []Small Laser sounds from Mech Commander 2

  []Pilot promotion sound from Mech Commander 2 when company increases in reputation

  []Mech salvaging sound from Mech Commander 2 when putting in a repair work order

  • []Main Menu music replaced with Mech Commander 2 Menu Music

    []Hangar music with Mech Commander 2 Loading Music

    []Mission complete theme replaced with Mech Commander Gold mission complete theme

    []Mission failed theme replaced with Mech Commander 2 mission failed theme.

    I plan to add more weapon and mech/cockpit sounds, as well as music from other Mechwarrior/Mech Commander games. Enjoy for now!

    Note: for now, the Bitchin Betty dialogue is probably only working for English language installations of the game.

    Future content:

    • []Ejection pod sound from Mech Commander

    • Critical explosion sound (unsure what game so far)

      These will require a little more work due to the sound events for them not currently existing.

      Installation: As of version 0. 004a and above, you must extract the zip into the MW5Mercs/Mods folder and activate them using the Mods menu on the title screen.

      You may use multiple sound mod files together as you please. For example, if you only want the Bitchin Betty and Music mods, only activate those two files in the mod editor.

      For now, it is hard for me to separate the weapon sounds into individual files, as they all share the same single audio bank. I hope to add separate files for each weapon sound in the future.
