The Specter is what happened when the brass asked the inevitable next question: can we actually build these in numbers? The answer was yes - with caveats. ⚠ Requires the HVR Phantom The Specter is a derivative platform - the production line was built on the original prototype's research. To unlock and research the Specter, you must first download and unlock the HVR Phantom. Without the Phantom's research data, the Specter cannot be assembled. Phase-Shift, Mass-Produced The Specter brings phase-shift technology into the production line. Standard parts, conventional ballistic compatibility, manageable maintenance. The phase field still works - and where it engages, it actually engages deeper than the original Phantom. The science is straightforward: energy that would normally distribute across the entire hull cannot enter the ballistic-anchored sections. It concentrates in the remaining zones instead. Fewer points of contact with real-space, more reliable pass-through where the phase is active. (this is literal - projectiles pass through more often than on the Phantom... in the areas that phase at all) The catch is what doesn't phase. The ballistic wing pylons stay solid no matter what the rest of the hull is doing. Stronger phase, smaller area, large unprotected zones. The Compromise Ballistic gun breeches need real-space anchoring at the moment of firing. The phase generator cannot maintain coherence around them. The wing ballistic pylons are permanently anchored - those zones stay solid no matter what the phase field is doing. Hit them, hurt the vehicle. The central experimental mount is unaffected. It phases like a Phantom. The wings don't. Survival means keeping the ballistic flanks angled away from incoming fire while the central experimental mount does the heavy work. P
