📋 About This Mod
Are you tired of watching your swords cut through armour like butter? Do you think armour is too unrealistic in M&B: Warband? Do you wish spears were actually good weapons? Do you wish daggers and knives had an actual use? And most
The ULTIMATE Realistic Damage Mod (TURDM) Is a mod that overhauls (and by that i mean, changes numbers) how armour and damage works in M&B: Warband, with the goal of approaching how real medieval weapons and armour would interact with each other to the best of the author's (my) ability. It is not necessarily 100% accurate to reality, both because the engine of the game limits me, because I can't travel back in time to watch how medieval fights went (although I was there during most of them, so I can go off of memory) And also because game balance and fun were a little bit of a concern with making this mod (Don't worry, they weren't my main goal, just something in the back of my mind).
As a disclaimer, most of the balancing on this mod was done on custom battles and on multiplayer bot matches. Custom battles allowed me to easily see exact damage numbers, and multiplayer bot battles allowed me to see how the weapons work out in large fights. The mod won't necessarily be balanced as intended in Campaign mode.
-"But what does this mod actually change?"
Well thank you for asking, dear reader, for I will explain it all right here! For starters, how does this mod affect damage types? and what is that meant to represent?

[]Cutting damage is almost entirely negated by plate armour, and is very ineffective against all others kinds of armour. Ya can't cut through plate, mate.
[
]Piercing damage is heavily reduced, but not negated by armour. You are forced to search for gaps in the armour (which will be explained later) to effectivelly kill people in plate. In mail and under, you can simply stab them a buncha times[]Blunt damage is the least reduced by armour. That does not mean it completely ignores all armour, or that it's the most effective type of damage. The main different it has here, is that while other weapons force you to aim for specific spots you wouldn't normally aim for, blunt allows you to whack your opponent and hope you bruise them enough to win.
Thank you again, my dear reader, that is what i'll explain now!
[]Swords are overall not that great if you cut with them. Cutting is almost entirely negated by armour, and swords deal vanilla cutting damage in the current version of the mod. This was not my intention, simply, there are way too many swords and I couldn't bother to change their swing damage values for the first release. I may do that later, but it changes very little, because if you wanna beat armour, you gotta stab through the gaps.
[]Axes had their damage increased very significantly, to the point it's easy to instantly kill unarmoured targets, especially if they have no helmets. They aren't the best against armour, but they are better against plate than cut-only swords, since they can at least do some blunt damage.
[]Daggers deal a ton o
