SSG 82

"Sniper Rifle" "Precision forged behind the Iron Curtain." SSG 82 The SSG 82 is an East German bolt-action sniper rifle developed for precision shooting by police and security forces of the German Democratic Republic. The rifle combines robust construction, high manufacturing quality, and a carefully fitted heavy barrel to deliver outstanding accuracy and reliability. Notable features include: — 5. 45×39mm chambering — bolt-action operation — detachable 5-round box magazine — heavy precision barrel — adjustable trigger mechanism The use of the small-caliber, high-velocity 5. 45×39mm cartridge provided relatively low recoil while maintaining excellent precision. The SSG 82 was designed primarily for precision engagements and law enforcement missions where first-shot accuracy was critical. Historical Background In the early 1980s, the Ernst Thälmann arms factory in Suhl developed a new precision rifle for the People's Police and other security organizations of the German Democratic Republic. The rifle entered service in 1982 under the designation SSG 82 (Scharfschützengewehr 82, meaning "Sniper Rifle Model 1982"). Unlike most military sniper rifles of its era, the SSG 82 was chambered in 5. 45×39mm, providing a flatter trajectory and reduced recoil. Following German reunification, most rifles were withdrawn from service, and their limited production numbers made surviving examples highly desirable among collectors. Today, the SSG 82 is regarded as one of the most distinctive precision rifles ever produced in East Germany. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them.
