M16A2 GL

"Assault rifle with under-barrel grenade launcher" “One weapon, two missions.” M16A2 with M203 Grenade Launcher The M16A2 with the M203 grenade launcher is a combination of the M16A2 service rifle and the under-barrel M203 40mm grenade launcher. This setup greatly increases the soldier's versatility by combining accurate rifle fire with explosive firepower. Chambered in 5. 56×45mm NATO, the rifle operates using a gas-operated rotating bolt system, while the M203 launcher fires 40×46mm low-velocity grenades. The system allows the operator to engage both point targets and area targets without switching weapons. Key features include: — 20-inch barrel — selective-fire operation — under-barrel 40mm grenade launcher — compatibility with various grenade types The M203 can fire: — high-explosive grenades — smoke rounds — illumination rounds — training ammunition This combination became one of the most recognizable infantry weapon systems of the late Cold War era. Historical Background The M16A2 entered service with the United States Marine Corps in the 1980s as an improved version of the earlier M16A1. The M203 Grenade Launcher was adopted as a replacement for the older M79 grenade launcher, allowing grenadiers to carry both a rifle and a grenade launcher in a single weapon system. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the M16A2/M203 combination became standard equipment for many American infantry units and was widely used during operations in the Middle East, the Balkans, and elsewhere. Its influence can still be seen today in modern rifle-grenade launcher systems. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them. From Ukraine with love! Enjoy!
