PDR-C

"Personal Defense Weapon (PDW)" “Rifle power in a submachine gun-sized package.” PDR-C (Personal Defense Rifle – Compact) The PDR-C is a compact Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) concept developed by Magpul Industries. Designed around the 5. 56×45mm NATO cartridge, the weapon was intended to provide rifle-level firepower in a package barely larger than a submachine gun. The PDR-C uses a bullpup configuration, placing the action and magazine behind the trigger group. This allows for a full-length barrel while keeping the overall weapon extremely compact. Key features include: — compact bullpup design — compatibility with standard AR-15 magazines — lightweight polymer construction — ambidextrous controls — integrated accessory mounting options The weapon was designed for vehicle crews, security personnel, and operators requiring a compact firearm without sacrificing rifle-caliber performance. Its short overall length makes it highly maneuverable in confined spaces while retaining effective ballistic performance. Historical Background The PDR-C was unveiled by Magpul Industries during the late 2000s as part of a series of experimental firearm concepts. The project sought to address the growing demand for compact weapons capable of outperforming traditional pistol-caliber submachine guns. Unlike many PDW concepts chambered in proprietary cartridges, the PDR-C was designed around the widely available 5. 56×45mm NATO round and standard AR-15 magazines. Despite attracting significant interest from firearms enthusiasts and industry observers, the weapon never entered mass production and remained a prototype. Today, the PDR-C is remembered as one of the most ambitious and innovative PDW concepts of its era. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them.
