Colt R6450

"Semi-automatic carbine (PCC)" “AR ergonomics, pistol-caliber control.” Colt R6450 The Colt R6450 is a semi-automatic carbine chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, developed by Colt's Manufacturing Company as part of its 9mm AR-pattern lineup. Based on the AR-15 platform, the R6450 uses a straight blowback operating system rather than the traditional gas system, adapting the design for pistol-caliber ammunition. The carbine features a 16-inch barrel, fixed stock, and A2-style upper receiver, maintaining a classic AR appearance while offering reduced recoil and controllable shooting. It feeds from Colt-pattern 9mm magazines, often derived from modified SMG designs. The R6450 is valued for low recoil, reliability, and ease of use, making it suitable for training, sport shooting, and civilian applications. Historical Background The Colt R6450 was introduced in the late 20th century as part of Colt’s expansion into pistol-caliber carbines. It draws lineage from earlier 9mm AR systems developed for law enforcement and submachine gun roles, such as the Colt 9mm SMG. As civilian demand grew for low-recoil, AR-style firearms, the R6450 became a popular semi-automatic option. It reflects a broader trend toward pistol-caliber carbines (PCCs), combining familiar ergonomics with affordable and widely available ammunition. Today, it remains a recognizable example of Colt’s 9mm AR platform. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them. From Ukraine with love! Enjoy!
