C1A1 SLR

"Battle rifle" “Cold War reliability with disciplined firepower.” C1A1 SLR The C1A1 SLR (Self-Loading Rifle) is the Canadian service variant of the FN FAL, produced under license and adapted to meet the requirements of the Canadian Armed Forces. Chambered in 7. 62×51mm NATO, the C1A1 operates using a gas-operated system with a tilting bolt, providing reliable performance in a wide range of conditions. Unlike some other FAL variants, the C1A1 was typically issued as a semi-automatic rifle, emphasizing accuracy and ammunition control over fully automatic fire. The rifle features a detachable box magazine, adjustable gas system, and robust construction, making it suitable for sustained field use. Canadian variants often included distinctive sights and furniture, reflecting national modifications to the original Belgian design. Historical Background The C1A1 SLR was adopted in the 1950s as the standard service rifle of the Canadian Armed Forces. It was based on the FN FAL, one of the most widely used battle rifles of the Cold War era. The C1A1 remained in service for several decades, including during Canada’s commitments to NATO and various peacekeeping operations. In the 1980s, it was gradually replaced by the Colt Canada C7, a 5. 56×45mm rifle based on the AR platform. Today, the C1A1 is regarded as a reliable and historically significant service rifle, representing Canada’s Cold War military standard. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments.
