MP412 REX

"Revolver" “A modern revolver with a classic twist.” MP-412 REX The MP-412 REX is a modern Russian revolver developed by Izhevsk Mechanical Plant. Designed in the early 2000s, the revolver combines traditional revolver mechanics with modern materials and an unconventional appearance. Chambered in . 357 Magnum (with compatibility for . 38 Special), the MP-412 REX features a robust frame constructed with a combination of metal and polymer components, reducing weight while maintaining durability. One of the most distinctive features of the revolver is its break-open (top-break) design, allowing the cylinder to tilt downward for quick reloading and ejection of spent cartridges. This is a relatively uncommon feature in modern revolvers. The weapon also includes an ergonomic grip and modern styling, making it stand out compared to more traditional revolver designs. Historical Background The MP-412 REX was developed in the early 2000s by Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, primarily with export markets in mind, especially the United States. At the time, there was growing interest in modern revolvers with classic mechanisms but updated materials and design. The MP-412 aimed to fill this niche by offering a unique combination of features. However, due to legal restrictions and market challenges, the revolver was never widely adopted or mass-produced. As a result, it remains relatively rare and somewhat obscure. Today, the MP-412 REX is known mainly among collectors and enthusiasts as an unusual and innovative revolver design. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments.
