"Tactical semi-automatic shotgun" “Kalashnikov durability meets 12-gauge firepower.” Vepr-12 Molot The Vepr-12 Molot is a semi-automatic shotgun developed in Russia by the firearms manufacturer Molot-Oruzhie. Based on the proven design of the RPK, the Vepr-12 combines the rugged reliability of the Kalashnikov system with the firepower of a 12-gauge shotgun. Chambered for 12-gauge shells, the weapon operates using a gas-operated rotating bolt system derived from the Kalashnikov platform. Unlike many traditional shotguns, the Vepr-12 feeds from detachable box magazines, allowing for faster reloads and greater ammunition capacity. The shotgun features a reinforced receiver, a heavy-duty barrel, and a wide range of modern accessories such as rails, adjustable stocks, and muzzle devices. These characteristics make it well suited for tactical use, sport shooting, and competition disciplines like practical shotgun shooting. Its design was based on the heavier and more durable receiver of the RPK rather than the standard AK-47 platform, giving the shotgun additional strength and reliability. The firearm became widely used in sport shooting competitions, particularly in practical shooting disciplines organized by International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). Its reliability, magazine-fed system, and rapid firing capability made it a popular choice among competitive shooters and tactical enthusiasts.
