KelTec RFB

"Semi-automatic battle rifle" “Bullpup power with forward innovation.” Kel-Tec RFB The Kel-Tec RFB (Rifle, Forward-ejecting Bullpup) is a semi-automatic bullpup rifle chambered in 7. 62×51mm NATO. Its most distinctive feature is the forward ejection system, which pushes spent casings through a tube above the barrel and ejects them near the front of the rifle. This design allows the weapon to be comfortably used by both right- and left-handed shooters. The RFB operates using a short-stroke gas piston and a tilting bolt system. The bullpup configuration places the action behind the trigger group, allowing the rifle to maintain a full-length barrel while remaining compact and maneuverable. Key features: Chambered in 7. 62×51mm NATO (. 308 Winchester) Bullpup configuration for compact size Forward ejection system for ambidextrous use Short-stroke gas piston operation Compatible with metric FN FAL magazines Historical Background The RFB was developed by Kel-Tec in the early 2000s and officially introduced in 2008. The rifle was designed to offer a compact battle-rifle platform firing full-power rifle cartridges while remaining comfortable for both left- and right-handed shooters. Its innovative forward-ejection system solved one of the traditional issues of bullpup rifles—case ejection near the shooter’s face. By redirecting the casings forward, the RFB achieved true ambidextrous operation. Although primarily marketed to civilian shooters and enthusiasts, the rifle gained attention for its unique engineering and unconventional approach to bullpup rifle design.
