Browning BDM

"Service / duty pistol" “Two trigger systems. One platform.” Browning BDM The Browning BDM (Browning Double Mode) is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum. Introduced in the early 1990s, it was designed as a lightweight, modern service pistol featuring an innovative dual operating system. What made the BDM unique was its selectable firing mechanism. With a simple switch, the pistol could operate either in traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) mode or in a double-action-only (DAO) configuration. This flexibility was intended to appeal to both civilian shooters and law enforcement agencies with different training doctrines. Key features: 9×19mm Parabellum chambering High-capacity double-stack magazine Aluminum alloy frame Dual-mode DA/SA or DAO trigger system Ambidextrous controls Historical Background The Browning BDM was developed by Browning Arms Company and manufactured by FN Herstal in the early 1990s. At the time, many law enforcement agencies were transitioning from revolvers to high-capacity semi-automatic pistols. The BDM attempted to bridge different preferences by offering both traditional DA/SA and DAO trigger modes in one platform. Despite its innovative concept, the BDM faced strong competition from established service pistols and was eventually discontinued. Today, it remains an interesting example of 1990s experimentation in handgun design. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them. From Ukraine with love!
