Perun X-16

"Modular Assault Rifle Concept" “Thunder in controlled bursts.” Perun X-16 is presented as a modern modular rifle platform chambered in intermediate calibers, designed with adaptability and ergonomics in mind. The name “Perun” — referencing the Slavic god of thunder — suggests emphasis on power and impact. The platform is typically imagined as featuring: Lightweight alloy or polymer receiver construction Free-floating barrel configuration Full-length accessory rail system Adjustable stock assembly Compatibility with modern optical and tactical accessories Conceptual historical background: If positioned within a modern Eastern European development context, the Perun X-16 would likely represent a next-generation service rifle concept aimed at balancing modularity, reliability, and reduced weight. Such platforms generally emerge in the 2010s–2020s as part of broader efforts to modernize infantry small arms with improved ergonomics and accessory integration.
