CZ Scorpion EVO 3

"Submachine Gun / Personal Defense Weapon" “Compact size. Full control.” CZ Scorpion EVO 3 is a modern Czech submachine gun chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, developed for military, law enforcement, and civilian markets. Compact, lightweight, and highly modular, it represents a new generation of European SMGs. The weapon was developed by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod and officially introduced in 2009. Despite sharing the historic “Scorpion” name, the EVO 3 is a completely new design and not a direct evolution of the older vz. 61. The EVO 3 operates on a simple blowback system and fires from a closed bolt, improving accuracy in semi-automatic fire. It features a polymer receiver, ambidextrous controls, a folding/telescoping stock (on certain variants), and full-length Picatinny rails for optics and accessories. Standard magazines typically hold 20 or 30 rounds. Brief historical background: Adopted by Czech armed forces and police units in the early 2010s, the EVO 3 quickly gained international attention due to its reliability, controllability, and modular design. It has since been exported worldwide and became popular in civilian semi-automatic configurations, especially in the United States. The platform later evolved into improved variants such as the Scorpion 3+ series, continuing its legacy as a compact and adaptable 9mm weapon system.
