M110 SASS

"Semi-Automatic Sniper / Designated Marksman Rifle" “Precision at speed. One shot is good — two are better.” M110 SASS (Semi-Automatic Sniper System) is a semi-automatic precision rifle developed by Knight’s Armament Company (KAC) and adopted by the United States Army in the mid-2000s. Chambered in 7. 62×51mm NATO, the M110 was designed to replace the aging M24 bolt-action sniper rifle in certain roles, offering faster follow-up shots and improved flexibility on the battlefield. Built on the SR-25 platform, the M110 features a direct impingement gas system, a free-floating barrel for enhanced accuracy, and full compatibility with modern optics and suppressors. It was typically issued with a Leupold scope, suppressor, bipod, and match-grade ammunition as part of a complete sniper package. The rifle saw extensive use in Iraq and Afghanistan, where its semi-automatic capability allowed designated marksmen and sniper teams to engage multiple targets rapidly while maintaining precision at medium to long ranges. Brief historical background: In 2005, the U. S. Army selected the M110 SASS after competitive trials to modernize its sniper systems. Based on the proven SR-25 design by Eugene Stoner and refined by Knight’s Armament, the M110 became a standard semi-automatic precision platform for U. S. forces until it began gradual replacement by newer systems like the M110A1 CSASS. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them. From Ukraine with love!
