Mechanically, the MP 41(r) retained the simple and robust blowback system of the PPSh-41, known for its high rate of fire and reliability. Converted versions typically featured a modified barrel, magazine well adapter, and adjusted sights, while keeping the distinctive wooden stock and aggressive firing characteristics of the original Soviet design.
