The rifle was chambered for intermediate experimental cartridges and utilized a roller-delayed blowback system, a design that would later become iconic through the German G3 rifle. CETME A2 featured a lightweight construction, simple iron sights, and an emphasis on controllability and ease of manufacture. Historical background: CETME A2 was part of Spain’s efforts to modernize its infantry weapons after World War II.
