URG-I SOCOM

"Special Operations Assault Rifle" “A refined evolution of the M4, built to meet the unforgiving standards of SOCOM.” URG-I SOCOM (Upper Receiver Group – Improved) is a modernized assault rifle configuration developed for U. S. Special Operations Forces. Built around the AR-15/M4 platform, it focuses on improved accuracy, durability, and modularity for demanding combat environments. The URG-I typically features a 14. 5-inch barrel chambered in 5. 56×45mm NATO, paired with a free-floating Geissele M-LOK handguard that allows for flexible mounting of optics, lasers, and accessories. Enhanced materials and tighter tolerances improve reliability under sustained use, while maintaining compatibility with standard SOCOM equipment. Historical background: The URG-I program was introduced in the late 2010s as part of SOCOM’s effort to modernize the M4A1 without fully replacing it. By upgrading key components—particularly the upper receiver and rail system—special operations units gained improved performance while keeping logistics simple. The URG-I saw widespread adoption among U. S. Army Special Forces, Rangers, and other SOCOM elements. If there are any bugs or malfunctions, write in the comments. I will try to fix them.
