RPD-44

“Iron Curtain” RPD-44 Light Machine Gun The RPD-44 is a Soviet belt-fed light machine gun, developed by Vasily Degtyaryov in the late stages of World War II and officially adopted in 1944. Chambered in 7. 62×39mm, the same round later used in the AK-47, the RPD combines reliable gas operation, a fixed barrel, and a 100-round drum-fed belt system for continuous suppressive fire.
