📋 About This Mod

Manor Lords taxes every import +10 and locks trade behind routes you grind wealth to unlock. Laissez-Faire removes the import tax and opens every trade route in all your regions - trade at real prices and finally build an economy. Auto-on,

Trade at the real price.

"Laissez faire, laissez passer" - let it be done, let it pass. That was the French merchants' answer when the Crown wouldn't stop taxing their goods. Your king didn't listen either, so here we are.

Manor Lords' trade economy fights you two ways:

  • []A flat +10 "import tax" on every single item. A good worth 3 costs 13 to import. Worth 7? You pay 17. It never scales down, and it quietly bleeds your treasury.[/]

[]A trade route you must buy with regional wealth before a good can be traded properly, priced per good and per region, so branching out costs thousands before a single cart moves.[/]

Laissez-Faire removes both, one for each half of the slogan.

    • []✔ Laissez faire - no import tax - imports cost the real market price. No more +10 on every item.[/]

[]✔ Laissez passer - your routes, opened free - set a good to Import, Export or Full Trade and its route is opened for you, with no route fee.[/]

[]✔ Where you are playing - it works on the region you're in, and follows you when you move. One switch in the config opens every region you hold instead.[/]

Now you can actually run a trade-based settlement instead of watching imports drain you dry.

It follows your trade rules, on purpose

The mod only opens the goods you choose to trade, in the region you are actually playing. That is not laziness, it is the fix for the traffic jams some of you reported: Manor Lords creates a trade route merchant for every good a route is opened for, so opening every good in every region filled the roads with carts carrying nothing. Trading twelve goods gets you twelve routes and a normal number of merchants, a good you leave on No Trade is never touched, and a region you are not playing is left alone. If you would rather cover your whole realm at once, set active_region_only to false in scripts\main.lua.

      How to use

      • []It switches on automatically a few seconds after you load into a game, and keeps watching.[/]

[]Set a good to Import, Export or Full Trade and its route opens within about half a minute, free.[/]

[]Ctrl+Alt+E - apply right now, if you don't feel like waiting.[/]

        Why it survives game patches

Laissez-Faire writes the game's own trade setting and calls the game's own route function, after reading your own trade rules. It uses no version checks and no memory offsets. When Manor Lords updates, it keeps working.
