High-Visibility Yellow Item Glow

Description

Tired of missing weapons and items in dark corners? This lightweight Quality of Life (QoL) mod changes the default, faint white outline aura of all weapons and items to a high-visibility, bright neon yellow.

While great for desktop PC players, it was specifically created and optimized for handheld gaming. If you are playing on a smaller screen like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally, this mod makes spotting essential gear a breeze without straining your eyes.

Installation instructions

[ WINDOWS PC ]

1. Download and extract the downloaded ZIP file.

2. Put the ''high-visibility yellow item glow (qol).vpk file directly into your Left 4 Dead 2 addons directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\

3. Launch the game and play!

[ STEAM DECK / LINUX ]

1. Switch your Steam Deck to Desktop Mode.

2. Download and extract the downloaded ZIP file.

3. Open Dolphin (File Manager) and put the 'high-visibility yellow item glow (qol).vpk' file directly into this folder: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/addons/

(Note: If you cannot find the '.local' folder, click the top-right menu in Dolphin and check "Show Hidden Files").

4. Return to Gaming Mode, launch the game, and enjoy!
