Leatherworking

Leatherworking adds a new crafting material to Kingsvein, Hide. You can craft armor, weapons and accessories using this material. Leather equipment generally offers extra Evasion in exchange for less HP/MP. You will need a Leatherworking Kit to get started, which can be crafted by combining Stalkweave with Bones. Leather equipment offers an alternative upgrade system that doesn't require an anvil or crafting kits. You will need to find or craft a Gambeson or Leather Armor. You can upgrade it by adding Ore or Volskarn to it with the Leatherworking Kit to get a stronger version. You can then continue to upgrade the piece by adding Corpryst or Mythril. You can also upgrade your favorite Robe by adding Hide to it to give it Evasion. Whips An old favorite weapon from Horizon's Gate can be crafted using Hide and a Flail Crafting Kit. The whip acts as a flail with lower damage but increased range. Fully upgraded with Corpryst or Mythril, the whip has a melee range of 3, which can be increased to 4 with Giant's Reach. This allows for some crazy Storm Assault shenanigans, or long-range pushes with Bash. Leather Armor Gambesons are now leather equipment and can be crafted with Hide and an Armor Crafting Kit or disassembled into Hide with Shears on a Leatherworking Kit. The full Leather Armor variant can be crafted using the Fine Armor Crafting Kit, or found being worn by various enemies in Kingsvein. The Gambeson and Leather Armor can be upgraded the same as all leather equipment, by adding Ore or Volskarn to it with a Leatherworking Kit, then further upgraded with Corpryst or Mythril. Bucklers A new type of shield can be crafted with Hide and a Shield Crafting Kit, the Buckler. Bucklers are small shields that can be used even with two-handed weapons. They follow the same upgrading system as other equipment. Accessories Hide can be combined with other items to make necklaces and charms. Combining Hide and a Skull, for instance, will create a Skull Pendant. This new accessory
