Colloredo

House of Colloredo is an old italian-austrian dynasty, originating from lords of Waldsee. They settled in Italy in 11th century, where they got castle Mels. At the beginning of 14th century they built a new castle near italian village Colloredo, from which the dynasty then took the name to distinguish itself from other dynastic branches from Albana and from Prodolone. They came to Bohemia during 30-years war (17th century). Here they owned castles Dobříš, Opočno, or Zbiroh. The original coat of arms was just a silver strip on a black shield. Later an imperial eagle was added onto it.
