Ultimate Repair Kit 2.0

VERSION 1. 2 SUPPORTS HARDCORE MODE NOW. Should work fine according to reports, but be on a lookout just in case.

It seems that Hardcore Mode adds a perk that modifies some parameters to make the player's life harder. Unfortunately, those parameters include the durability and "health limit" (item condition cap after which you can't repait at all) of repair kits. My only choice was to try and modify that perk to include features of Ultimate Repair Kit 2. 0 Plus. I also hope it didn't influence any other modifiers, so be on a lookout for that. This also means this mod will conflict with any other mod modifying Hardcore Mode properties (not that hard to resolve manually though; ask me how if needed).

This mod is based on Big Repairkits by burneddi, all credit goes to them. I've just edited the values to make it identical in function to Ultimate Repair Kit. Unlike it, not only has it been tested and found working in the latest version of the game, 1. 9. 6, it also discards another disadvantage of Ultimate Repair Kit, its incompatibility with other mods due to them overriding rpg_param.xml, which required manually merging files. No more! This mod uses patched table files (~PTF~) so it should be compatible with pretty much everything except other mods that change the stats of repair kits.

You may also want to check out a similar mod that also tried to address and correct those issues, but was originally not up to date and not using PTFs: Definitive Repair Kit by WKpel. It is now fully up to date and should function properly. The main difference between our mods is that Definitive Repair Kit also removes the Maintenance level cap, allowing Henry to repair any items regardless of his proficiency with Maintenance, but it doesn't offer an "Unbreakable Kits" version. As a side effect, using Definitive Repair Kit, you will not only burn through repair kits rapidly, but will also powerlevel Maintenance in no time, since the game awards you with more XP for repairing more badly damaged items, which should be inaccessible to Henry in vanilla due to Maintenance skill cap restriction. You can use both of our mods together if you want!

Additional clarification about my mod from this mod's discussion page:

The mod should work on all pre-existing repair kits. But it doesn't influence anything related to the Maintenance skill level. The main point was to allow repairing items that are in the "red zone", very badly damaged. In vanilla you can only repair them at the armourer/tailor/cobbler/blacksmith. Thus, an encounter with a mace wielder could destroy your armor and send you all the way back to town - or you would destory enemies' armor and be unable to use it in the field. Your Maintenance level determines how badly damaged an item could be for you to be able to repair it. At level 20 you are guaranteed to be able to repair anything allowed by the game. The mod allows to repair items even with 0 condition. But if your skill is still too low, I suggest finding stuff and powerleveling Maintenance by damaging them to the level you can repair them at. Or mass repair stuff you loot from bandits and such. There are also four volumes of "Sharp as a Knife" books that can improve this skill, and trainers you can pay for it, of course.

You can watch the video attached to this modpage to see for yourself that the mod works! Since both versions of the mod allow you to repair 0 condition items, but only Plus offers unbreakable repair kits, I'm showing the Plus version there.

Manual installation: unzip the archive into the root folder of the game (e.g., D:\Games\Kingdom Come Deliverance), open the file Kingdom Come Deliverance\Mods\mod_order.txt. If this is your first mod, just paste UltimateRepairKit2 in there and save the file. If it isn't, paste it on a new line.

You can also install it using Vortex.

Uninstallation: disable and remove with Vortex (make sure it disappears from Mod Order), or, if installed manually, delete the line containing UltimateRepairKit2 from mod_order.txt and delete the UltimateRepairKit2 folder from Mods.
