📋 About This Mod
This replaces the original Timewheel UI texture with a new wheel texture showing the day/night cycle in a more realistic manner.
After playing this game hundreds of hours I was bored of the original one and remembered the nice day/night pixel graphics from the old DOS game Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny which had a quite similar visual representation of the day/night cycle when traveling.
It consists of three KCD screenshots taken near Uzhitz which have been blended together and mixed with a cool sundown atmosphere shader Screenshot. It was quite difficult to match the original wheel and the exact timing of dawn and sundown. Made with Photoshop's polar coordinate filter and some finishing work with Topaz Studio 2 plugin.
It consists only of two DDS textures - the large wheel when you sleep or wait and the small wheel for the fast travel screen. Texture resolution is 4096x4096 and 1024x1024.
Have fun with it :-)
Realistic Timewheel replaces Kingdom Come: Deliverance's default timewheel UI texture with a realistic day/night cycle wheel, using blended screenshots from near Uzhitz with a sundown atmosphere. It includes two DDS textures (4096x4096 and 1024x1024) for the sleep/wait and fast travel screens. A niche cosmetic mod for players wanting a more immersive time display.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 238 endorsements and over 6,400 downloads — clearly resonates with players.
- High-resolution textures (4096x4096) keep the UI crisp even on large displays.
- Adds a unique, atmospheric touch to the timewheel that fits the game's medieval setting.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in November 2021 — may not be compatible with the latest game patches.
- Only affects the timewheel UI; if you're looking for broader UI overhauls, this is too narrow.
For KCD players who've sunk hundreds of hours and want a fresh, realistic look at the day/night cycle. Also for fans of classic RPGs like Realms of Arkania who appreciate nostalgic nods. Skip if you want gameplay changes — this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's just two DDS textures, you can manually drop them into the game's Data folder, but using a mod manager like Vortex makes it easier to uninstall.
- Make sure to back up the original textures if you manually replace them, so you can revert if needed.
- Check the mod's comments section for any compatibility notes with the latest game version before installing.
